Our place is located at Plot No 15/16 in the Riico Stone Park at 9th Mile along the Naguar Road. It’s out in Mandore where the wind blows a lot of sand around the yard. We have a large area here because the stones we deal with take up a lot of room. Most days are spent watching the saws cut through the blocks, which can take a long time depending on how hard the material is. It is a dusty business and everything we own is covered in a thin layer of grey powder. We started out here when the stone park was still mostly empty ground. Now there are neighbors all around, but we still just focus on our own piles. The office is just a small room with a desk and a few chairs where we keep the ledger books. We don't have any fancy computers for the stone work, just the big machines and our own hands. Lunch is usually eaten under the shade of the back wall because it gets very hot out on the Naguar Road. The workers stay in the nearby village and come in on bicycles every day. We don't go into the city much because everything we need is right here in the park. It is steady work and the machines rarely get a break unless they need oiling. We like the open space out here even if it is a bit lonely sometimes.
