Punia Fruit Bhandar Madhban Subji Bhandar

Punia Fruit Bhandar and Madhban Subji Bhandar is situated at 564 Main Road in the Indhra Nagar area of Jodhpur. We deal mostly in fresh fruits and vegetables every single day. The mornings are the busiest time for us. We have to go to the main market very early to pick out the best produce to bring back to the shop. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving crates around. By the time the sun is up, we are ready for the customers. Our shop isn't very large, so we pile the crates high on the sidewalk. You can smell the fresh coriander and seasonal fruits from a distance. We don't use any fancy packaging or stickers. We just weigh the items on an old scale and put them in bags for people. Sometimes the onions are a bit more expensive one week, and we have to explain that to the ladies who come to shop. Jodhpur can get very hot, so keeping the leafy greens fresh is a constant struggle. We use a lot of water to keep things from wilting. It’s a basic job but it’s honest work. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and everyone around Indhra Nagar knows us. It’s hard work, but we like being outside.
