Om Sai Ram Sandstone

We’ve been here at Fidusar Chopar for a good while now, right near the Soorsagar post office. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly about the stone. That’s what we do every day at Om Sai Ram Sandstone. It is dusty work, honestly, but it is what we know. We spend most of our time out in the yard looking at blocks and slabs. Some days the sun is really pushing down on us, but the work doesn't stop because people need their building materials. We handle a lot of sandstone because that’s what this part of Jodhpur is famous for. It’s not a fancy setup. We have our tools, the crane, and the space where we keep the stock. Sometimes people just walk in from the post office side and ask about prices for a small house project or a wall. We tell them what we have on hand. It’s just us and a few workers moving things around. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. Usually, you’ll find us sitting on a bench near the entrance, drinking tea and talking to the drivers. The stone comes in from the quarries and goes out to wherever it’s needed. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the measurements are mostly right. It’s a simple life here near the chopar. Nothing too complicated, just heavy lifting and making sure the stone is solid enough for whatever job comes next.
