Om Prabhu Provision Store

If you’re near Somani College Road in Jodhpur, you’ll likely pass by Om Prabhu Provision Store. We are located right at the 1st Puliya on Chopasni Road. It’s a pretty busy spot with students walking by and families doing their shopping. Our store is full of the usual things like cooking oil, spices, and cleaning supplies. Jodhpur is a dusty place, so I’m constantly wiping down the jars and packets on the shelves. We have these big jars of candies on the counter that the kids always go for. It’s not a fancy supermarket; it’s just a room filled with stuff people need every day. I start my morning by cleaning the front area and checking what we’re running low on. Sometimes I have to go out and fetch items myself if the distributor is late. The shop can feel a bit small when several people are inside at once, especially when someone is buying a whole month’s worth of rations. We don't have a lot of help, so it’s usually just me or a family member behind the counter. We use old cardboard boxes to organize the smaller items. There’s no air conditioning, just the desert air and a fast-moving fan. People come here because it’s convenient and they know they’ll get a fair price. We just keep the doors open and try to stay helpful to whoever walks in. It is a simple job but it keeps us very busy.
