Our place is over at 12/5 in the Chopasni Housing Board area. It’s a bit of a different setup being in a housing board zone, but we make it work. It’s a busy neighborhood and we’ve been around here for quite some time now. Dealing with granite and marble means we’re always moving heavy stuff, so there’s usually a bit of noise coming from our plot. The neighbors are mostly used to the sound of the loaders by now. We spend a lot of time just organizing the slabs so people can actually see the colors and the veins in the stone. It’s not a high-end office where you sit on leather chairs. Usually, we’re standing out by the stacks talking about square footage and thickness. The dust is just part of the job, and it gets everywhere, even into the tea mugs if we aren't careful. We keep things pretty straightforward here. People come by, look at what’s available, and we figure out the logistics. It’s a lot of manual work and checking for cracks or bad spots in the blocks. Some days the sun is really beating down on the stone and it gets hard to look at without squinting. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand, whether that is unloading a new shipment or helping someone pick out a piece for their kitchen. It’s just us doing the daily grind in the Chopasni area.
