Neelkanth Sandstone Industries is over at Office Number G-48/49 in the Stone Park at Mandore. We are right near the Shiv Mandir, so it’s easy to find us if you’re looking for the temple. Working in Stone Park means we are surrounded by nothing but blocks of stone and the sound of chisels and saws. Sandstone is different from marble or granite; it has a different feel and texture, and we spend a lot of time sorting through the various shades of beige and red that come in. Our office is just a practical space where we can sit down and talk to customers about what they need for their walls or floors. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of fine sand because that’s just what happens when you work here. We don’t put on any acts or try to look bigger than we are. We are just a local industry doing our best with the materials we have. Some days the weather is too rough to work outside, and other days we are out there until the sun goes down trying to finish an order. We’ve got a good group of guys who know how to handle the stone without breaking the edges. If you come by, you’ll probably see us out in the yard checking the quality of the latest shipment. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know.
