New Pakiza Sherwani

New Pakiza Sherwani is situated right by the Sojati Gate, specifically near the Barli Masjid. It is an old part of town with a lot of history and very narrow streets. Our shop is where we do all the tailoring and fitting for sherwanis. It is a traditional kind of place. We have rolls of heavy silk and embroidered fabric leaning against the walls. There is usually a layer of thread and fabric scraps on the floor because we are always cutting something new. The lighting is a bit dim, but we have bright lamps over the sewing machines so we can see the detail work. It gets very hot in the summer, so we keep a big pedestal fan running all day long. We don't have a big fancy storefront with a lot of glass. It is more of a workshop where people come to get measured and pick out their designs. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor or on low stools while we work on the embroidery. It is slow work and takes a lot of patience. Sometimes customers come in with their whole families to look at the fabrics, and the shop gets very crowded and loud. We just offer them some water and continue with our work. We have been here for years, and most people in the neighborhood know us by name. It is just a local tailoring shop doing what we know how to do best.
