Marudhara Marbles

Marudhara Marbles has been here at Residency Road for quite some time now. If you know the Jaljog Choraha area, you probably passed by us without even looking twice. It gets pretty busy around here with all the traffic. Our place is mostly just stacks of stone and a lot of dust from the cutting. We spend most of our mornings just moving things around to make room for new stuff coming in. People usually stop by when they are building a house nearby and need something for their floors. It is not a fancy showroom or anything like that. We mostly just sit on plastic chairs and talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes the sun hits the slabs just right and you can see the patterns, but mostly it is just hard work. My hands are usually gray by midday. We keep track of everything in big ledgers because that is how we have always done it. It is noisy because of the main road, but we are used to it by now. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually when we take a break. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy pieces without breaking them. If you come looking for us, look for the big sign near the crossing. It is a simple life running a stone yard here. It’s nothing special, just stone and hard work every day.
