Stones Paradise

If you head out about nine miles toward Mandore, you’ll find us at G-74 in the Stone Park. This is where Stones Paradise is located. Being out at the 9 Miles mark means it feels a bit different than being right in the middle of the city. There is more space, but it’s still crowded with other stone businesses. We’ve got a big plot here, and it’s filled with all sorts of slabs and blocks. Most of the time we are out in the sun, moving things around with the crane or just checking the crates. It’s a long drive for some people, but this is where the industry is. The ground is mostly gravel and stone dust, which is tough on the shoes. We’ve got a small office on-site where we keep the books and take a break when it gets too hot. There’s usually a thermos of tea going somewhere. We don’t spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty; it’s a working yard through and through. You’ll hear the sound of saws and the heavy engines of trucks all day long. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren’t used to it, but for us, it’s just the usual noise. We take things as they come and try to keep the stacks organized so we don’t lose track of what’s what. It’s a basic way to work, but it suits us fine out here. We’ve been at this same spot for years now and the routine hasn't changed much at all. That's just life here at G-74.
