Mahadev Kirana & General Store

This shop, Mahadev Kirana & General Store, sits right at 54Meel here in Jodhpur. It is a dry area and people need their daily supplies without having to travel too far into the main city. I started this because there wasn't much else around this specific spot. We keep the basic grains, pulses, and soaps. The building isn't very new but it stays cool enough in the summer heat. Most of my customers are regulars who live just down the road. They know me by name and I know what they usually buy before they even ask. Jodhpur is a busy place but out here at 54Meel things are a bit quieter. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter or stacking the latest delivery of oil tins and biscuit packets. If you are passing through and need a bottle of water or some snacks, we are right here at the 342001 area. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside so we are always cleaning the counters. It’s hard work running a store alone most of the time. I don't have a big team or anything like that. It's just me and sometimes my nephew comes to help. We try to keep everything in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. It's just a small business trying to get by every day.
