Maa Durga Nav Guru Udyog

Our workshop is tucked away inside Jalori Gate, right in the Dhandhaniya area. If you know the old part of the city, you know it can get pretty crowded with the narrow lanes and all the people moving about. We’ve been at Maa Durga Nav Guru Udyog for years, and we like being part of the old town energy. It is a bit tight for space sometimes, but we make it work with what we have. Most of the time, you will hear the sounds of the machines before you even see the door. We aren't a big factory or anything, just a local udyog trying to stay busy and keep the orders moving. It gets hot and dusty in the small streets, but that is just Jodhpur for you. We often have people dropping by just to chat or check on how things are going. We don't do much in the way of fancy business meetings. Instead, we just sit on the stools near the entrance and talk through what needs to be done for the day. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. When the sun starts to set over the gate, we finish up our last tasks and lock up the place. It’s a simple existence, but it keeps us connected to the heart of the city. We’ve seen many businesses come and go, but we are still here doing our thing every day. It feels like home to us.
