We’ve been at 178, Narayanam for a while now. Dealing with stones is heavy work and there isn't much glory in it. People come to us on Upper Chopasani Road looking for slabs or blocks for their projects. It’s a dusty yard, and my hands are almost always covered in grit from moving pieces around. We just move stone from one place to another. It isn't fancy at all. Some days are much busier than others, especially when the trucks arrive late and we have to unload in the dark. We try to get things sorted so the builders can get on with their jobs. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting. The yard gets really crowded when a new shipment comes in. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, especially when it rains and things get slippery, but we manage somehow. If you need some stone, this is where we are located. We don’t have a big, shiny office, just the small space here near the gate. It’s mostly about making sure the right pieces go to the right site without breaking. Sometimes a piece breaks anyway, and we just have to start over. That’s just how it goes when you work with natural materials. My father started this business, and now I’m here every morning at seven. We know most of the guys who come by. It’s a routine. Just a local spot for stone. We’ve seen the road change over the years, but our gate stays the same. Most of the time, we’re just busy checking the inventory and talking to drivers. That’s us.
