Our workshop is out in the Basni industrial area, specifically at C-234 in Phase-II. It is a bit of a drive from the main part of Jodhpur, but this is where all the industrial action is. Kanungo Alloys Pvt Ltd deals with different kinds of metal alloys and industrial materials. The place is often quite dusty and hot, especially during the summer months when the sun beats down on the sheds. You can hear the sound of metal being moved around and machines running as soon as you pull up to the gate. We have a small office section tucked away from the main floor where we do all the billing and take phone calls from customers. It’s a busy environment with trucks coming in to load up or drop off materials throughout the day. We don’t have anything fancy like a showroom. It is just a practical space for manufacturing and storage. The guys on the floor have been with us for a long time and they know the metals better than anyone. We spend our days checking the quality of the batches and making sure the weights are right. It is physical, honest work that keeps us on our feet. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to take a break, but usually, we are working hard to keep up with the orders we have.
