Kachhawaha Marbles

We’ve been here at 120, A Polo 2Nd on Fort Road for a while now. If you know the Paota area, you probably know the Axis Bank across from us. That is usually how people find the place when they are looking for stone. It gets pretty dusty out here with all the marble we keep in the yard, but that is just part of the daily job. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot over the fort. We spend a lot of time moving slabs around with the crane or just talking to people who walk in looking for something specific for their kitchen floors. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. Just a lot of stone and some guys who know how to lift it. Some folks come in knowing exactly what they want, while others just wander around the rows of marble for an hour trying to decide. We don’t mind either way. Sometimes the traffic on Fort Road gets backed up, especially near the bank, and things get a bit noisy with all the honking. My desk is usually covered in a thin layer of white dust no matter how often I wipe it down. We have been doing this for long enough that the smell of wet stone feels normal now. It is a simple business. We get the stone in, we show it to whoever stops by, and we try to get it loaded onto their trucks without too much trouble. It is just us working here every day.
