Jai Majisa Kirana Store

Our shop is located out on Pali Road in the Jhalamand area of Jodhpur. We’re pretty easy to spot because we are right near the Canara Bank branch, which everyone knows. Living and working in Jodhpur means dealing with the heat, so we keep the shop as cool as possible for the customers who walk over. Jai Majisa Kirana Store is a small operation, mostly just me and a couple of helpers handling the daily rush. We stock the usual things people in Jhalamand need for their kitchens like spices, lentils, and flour. The mornings are usually spent dealing with the wholesalers and getting the fresh stock inside before the sun gets too high. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that, we just rely on people passing by or the locals who have been coming to us for years. Sometimes the Pali Road gets really busy with trucks, and it can be a bit noisy, but we’ve gotten used to it over time. We keep our ledgers by hand and make sure everyone gets their change right. It’s a basic way of doing things, but it works for us and the people who live nearby. We focus on having the stuff people actually use every day in their homes. If we don’t have something, we usually try to get it in the next delivery that comes through. It's just a regular life running a store in this part of town.
