Herbs And Leaves

People usually find us because we are right near the gas godown in Lal Sagar. If you miss that, you’ll probably drive right past 53-B in Narsingh Vihar without noticing. It is a quiet enough spot for the most part, though things get busy when a fresh load of stock arrives. We spend most of our mornings sorting through different leaves and herbs that come in. It is dusty work and your hands end up smelling like the earth by lunchtime. My cousin helps out with the packing while I try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high on the desk. We don’t have any fancy machines here. Most of what we do is just by hand, checking each bundle to see if it looks right. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains and we have to move everything inside quickly so nothing gets damp. The shop isn't much to look at, just some shelves and plenty of floor space for the bags. We have been here for a while now and most people in the neighborhood know us by name. It is just a regular way to make a living, dealing with plants and talking to the local folks who stop by. We don't have a big team, just a few of us trying to stay organized and get the orders out before the sun goes down. It’s a lot of manual labor but it keeps us busy.
