Jalori Gate is always a crowded spot, no matter what time of day you happen to be walking through. Our place, Food Bazaar, is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. I spend most of my day just keeping an eye on the shelves and making sure things aren't getting too messy. It’s a lot of work when there’s so many people coming in and out. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much, especially in the afternoons when the sun is beating down on the street outside. I’ve lived in this area for years, so I’m used to the pace of things around Jalori Gate, but it still surprises me how fast the day goes by. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place where folks can get what they need. I usually have a tea in the morning before the rush starts. The floor needs sweeping pretty much every hour because of the dust from the street. It’s just one of those things you get used to. We don't have any big corporate plans or anything like that. We just open the doors, talk to the regulars, and try to make sure everything is in its right place. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough that we don’t have much time for sitting around. If you’re ever passing through the gate, you’ll likely see us there behind the counter just doing our daily routine every single day.
