Deepak Marble

Deepak Marble is a small business run out of Gaderi House. We are right opposite the Ship House, which is a building most people in the area recognize easily. Our yard isn't the biggest you’ll find, but we manage to keep a decent selection of stone for people to choose from. Working with marble is a heavy job and it’s not for everyone. You spend a lot of time on your feet and your hands get rough from handling the stone and the water used for cutting. We don't have a team of people in suits or a big sales office. It’s just us in our work clothes doing what needs to be done. We talk to people who come in looking for something for their homes or small projects. Sometimes they know exactly what they want, and other times they need to look around for an hour to find the right color. We don't mind either way and we don't try to push them. We just let them look and answer questions when they have them. The area around Ship House can get a bit busy with traffic, but it’s mostly okay once you get used to it. We keep our records in a simple ledger book and try to keep things running as smooth as we can. It’s not a complicated way to live and we like it that way. We just focus on the stone we have.
