Chordiya Grinding Mills

You can find us at No. P 124 in Mahaveer Bazar, right across from the post office. It’s a loud place because the machines are usually running most of the day. We grind grains and spices for the local community. There is always a fine layer of flour dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. The smell of fresh wheat or hot chilies is very strong when you walk in. We have been in the bazar for a long time, and the machines we use are old but they still work perfectly fine. People bring their bags of grain, and we process them while they wait or they come back later. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is getting their supplies for the day. We don't have a fancy office; it's just the grinding floor and a small space to take payments. The Mahaveer Bazar is always crowded, so getting a cart or a bike through can be a struggle. We just focus on the work at hand. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which gives us a chance to have some tea and a break. Otherwise, it’s a lot of manual labor, pouring sacks into the hoppers and bagging the flour for people to take home. It’s a simple, necessary service for the neighborhood that we've been doing for years without much fuss. It keeps us busy from morning to night.
