Chauhan Refractories & Minerals

Our place is tucked away in the Jesica Colony extension, not far from the Gauri Shankar Temple. If you’re coming down the Gauri Shankar Link Road, you’ll hear the temple bells in the morning while we’re opening up the yard. We deal with various minerals and refractory materials, so the yard is usually full of heavy bags and different types of stones. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main city center, which we actually prefer. Most of our work involves taking orders over the phone and then figuring out the logistics of moving these heavy loads out to industrial sites. My brother and I handle most of the daily tasks, which involves a lot of checking inventory and talking to suppliers. The ground in the yard is uneven, and it can get a bit muddy when it rains, making it tricky for the loaders. We have a small office where we keep our records and a few samples of the minerals we carry. It’s nothing special to look at, just some metal desks and a calendar on the wall. Sometimes we get locals stopping by thinking we sell garden supplies, and we have to tell them we’re more on the industrial side of things. It’s a straightforward business, and we’ve been at this location long enough that everyone knows the Chauhan name around the colony. We just stick to what we know best and keep the yard moving.
