Vardhman Rice & Gen. Mills

Our place is located out in Ratta Khera village, right on the Jind Road near Safidon. We have been working from this spot for a while now. Most days it is just us and the machines running in the background. We handle rice and some other general milling tasks when the season is right for it. The road out front gets really busy with big trucks, especially during the harvest time when everyone is moving their crops. We keep the yard open so people can drive right in. It is a very plain building, nothing special to look at from the outside, but it stays relatively cool inside during the summer. The villagers from around here bring their grain, and we process it for them. We try to keep the floors swept, but with all the grain moving around, there is always a bit of a mess. That is just part of the daily job. My brother and I run the operations together. We spend our time talking to the drivers and making sure the loading goes okay. We are not looking to become some huge corporate company. We just like having our own spot here in the village. It gets real quiet at night when the machines finally stop. We usually stay until the last truck is gone, and sometimes that is quite late. We don't have a website or anything, just the sign on Jind Road so people can find us.
