Aeroplane Rice Mill

If you head over to Safidon Mandi in the Jind district of Haryana, you’ll find us near the Jain Sthanak. Aeroplane Rice Mill is run by the family, and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Dhanwaria handles a lot of the day-to-day things here. The mandi is a loud and dusty place, especially during the harvest season when the trucks are lined up for miles. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the smell of grain is something you never really lose. It’s hard work, and our clothes usually end up covered in dust by the end of the shift. The machinery in the mill is old but reliable, and we know exactly how to fix it when it decides to act up. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; we just have a small room with a fan and some wooden chairs where we sit and talk to the farmers. People come by to check the prices and talk about the weather, which usually dictates how our week is going to go. It’s a simple life in 126112, far away from the big city noise. We just focus on getting the rice processed and out to the markets. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We eat our lunch together under the shade when it’s too hot inside the mill and wait for the next truck to arrive.
