You can find us in Village Shyampura, which is under the Nua post office in the Jhunjhunun district. It’s a rural area, so things move a little slower out here, which we don't mind at all. We spend our days surrounded by different kinds of stones. There is always a lot of loading and unloading going on. The trucks come in with big blocks and we have to figure out where to put them in the yard. It’s a lot like a puzzle sometimes. We don't have a big corporate structure or fancy titles. We are just people who know about stone and how to move it. My hands are usually rough from handling the edges all day. It’s not the kind of work where you stay clean. The dust gets everywhere, even in the little office where we keep the logs. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep us company while we work. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy logo. People in the Taluka know where we are and what we do. Sometimes a neighbor will stop by just to chat for a bit while we are working. We just keep our heads down and focus on the inventory. It’s honest, physical work that keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the fields. We don't need much more than a good pair of boots and a functioning crane to get through the day.
