Shekhawat Marbles

Shekhawat Marbles is easy to find because we are right near the Anaj Mandi and the bus stand in Gudha Gorji. Being near the grain market means there are always a lot of tractors and people around. The bus stand adds even more noise and movement. Our marble yard is situated where everyone passes by. We have the slabs displayed out front so people can see the colors and the quality without having to walk too far in. The ground is covered in stone dust and bits of gravel. We spend our time loading marble onto vehicles that take it to different construction sites. The workers are usually busy with the cranes or just moving things by hand. It can get very hot under the sun, so we try to get the heavy work done early. We have a small room where we keep our tools and some benches for sitting. The walls are stained with the red soil of the area. We don't have a receptionist; you just walk in and talk to whoever is free. It is a busy, loud, and honest place to work. The proximity to the bus stand makes it convenient for people coming from nearby villages. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just sell marble and make sure it gets to where it needs to go from our spot in Gudha Gorji.
