Manta Marbles

Manta Marbles is located right on the Main Road in Sambalpur, not far from the Beheramal Chowk. It’s a busy stretch of road and we get a lot of dust from the passing cars, but it means people can find us easily without needing a map. I’ve been running this place for a few years now after working for others in the trade. We have a lot of slabs stacked up in rows, mostly marble and some granite too. It’s not a fancy setup at all. We just have a small office for the paperwork and the rest of the space is taken up by the stone blocks. When customers come by, they usually walk through the rows to see the different patterns and colors available. I like it when they bring their families because everyone has a different opinion on which color is better for the hall. I don’t try to influence them much. I just tell them which ones are harder or easier to keep clean. We get our stock from different quarries and sometimes the quality varies, so I have to be careful about what I accept into the yard. Loading the trucks is the hardest part of the job, especially when the weather is bad or the ground is muddy. We’ve had a few rainy days lately that slowed us down quite a bit. My staff and I just work at our own pace. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. Being a local shop in Sambalpur is enough for us. We just focus on getting the slabs out to the sites.
