Mamta Marbles

You can find Mamta Marbles right at Beheramal Chowk. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always noise and dust from the road. We’ve been here a long time, right on the corner. We keep a lot of marble slabs and tiles stacked up. It’s heavy work moving them around, but that’s the business. We don’t have any fancy office space. Usually, we’re just out in the yard or the main shed showing people the different colors and grains in the stone. Every piece is a bit different, which is what makes it interesting. Sometimes the trucks arrive late at night and we have to be here to unload them. It’s just the two of us mostly, managing the stock and talking to builders. We don’t do much fancy talking. We just show you what we have and tell you the price per square foot. People from all over the Beheramal area come here when they are building a new house or fixing an old one. It’s a practical shop for people who want to see the stone in person before they buy it. The sun hits the yard hard in the summer, so we usually take a break in the middle of the day. We’re not a big corporation, just a local marble yard doing what we’ve done for years. We often have some broken pieces in the back that people take for small repair jobs or art projects. It’s just how we operate.
