Shankar Kirana

You can find Shankar Kirana right on Station Road, specifically on the way to Bari Bazar Road in Jamalpur. We are near Raj Palace, which most people around here know as a landmark. Being at Plot No.0240185 puts us right in the middle of a lot of foot traffic. It is a basic kirana shop where we stock the usual things people need for their kitchens. Bags of rice, pulses, spices, and whatever else is in demand that week. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work and realizes they forgot something for dinner. The shelves aren't always perfectly organized, and sometimes we have to move a few crates just to get to the back, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different faces behind the counter depending on the time of day. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a shop where locals come to get their supplies. The street outside is usually busy with rickshaws and people walking to the station. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years while we stayed right here doing the same thing. It is hard work, especially when the new stock arrives and we have to haul it all inside, but it’s what we do. We just try to stay stocked up and keep the doors open for anyone passing by. It’s been our life for years now. We have some old shelves that probably need replacing, but they still hold the weight just fine. Most neighbors just stop by for a chat.
