Grih Laxmi General Store

Our little shop, Grih Laxmi General Store, is located right in Sastrinagar on Shah Zubair Road. If you are walking down near DJ College Road in Munger, you’ll probably see us. It’s not a big place, just a standard general store with all the stuff families around here use every day. We’ve got soap, snacks, notebook paper, and some kitchen items. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to home. The street outside can get really loud with all the scooters and people walking to the college. Sometimes students stop in for a quick drink or a pen when they’ve run out. The shelves are a bit crowded because we try to fit as much as possible into the small space we have. My wife often sits behind the counter in the afternoons when I have to go out and pick up more stock from the wholesalers. We don’t use any computer systems or anything like that. We just write things down in a big ledger book. Sometimes we lose the pen and have to hunt for it under a pile of papers. It’s a bit messy but we know where everything is. People in the neighborhood know they can just pop in. We don’t do anything special, just keep the doors open and wait for customers. It's a quiet way to make a living and we like being part of the local community here.
