Ridge Engg. Services is situated on New Furulia Road in the Mango area. If you know Mango, you know how the traffic can get on that main road. It’s a constant stream of trucks and buses passing by our front door. We spend our days in the middle of all that noise. The shop is mostly open-air so we can get some ventilation, but that also means we get all the road dust. We do a lot of engineering service work, mostly repairs and small fabrications. Our workbench is usually covered in tools and half-finished parts. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a suit-and-tie kind of atmosphere here. It’s more about getting the job done and not worrying too much about how we look while doing it. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so it gets warm early on. We have a small radio that plays in the background, though you can barely hear it over the trucks. Most of our customers are locals or drivers who stop by because they saw our sign. We don’t do much in the way of promotion. We just try to be fair and get the work finished on time. It’s a busy life on New Furulia Road, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if it were quiet. That’s just the way it is for us here.
