Modern Engineering

You can find Modern Engineering over in Kabir Market, which is right on New Kali Mati Road in Sakchi. It is a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside our door. We deal with a lot of mechanical parts and small machinery bits that local workshops need. The shop is filled with the smell of oil and metal, which I’ve gotten used to over the years. We aren't a huge factory, just a place where people can come to get parts fabricated or find a specific piece of hardware for their engines. My desk is usually covered in drawings and order forms because things get busy pretty quickly in the mornings. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. It is mostly just a couple of us who know the inventory well enough to help out. The shelves are packed with gears, bearings, and tools. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken part and we have to figure out a way to match it or fix it. It’s practical work that requires a bit of patience. We’ve been in Sakchi for a long time, so most of the other shopkeepers in Kabir Market are like old friends now. We just focus on getting the jobs done right and making sure the parts we sell are going to last for the people who buy them.
