You can find us at the Improvement Center on the third floor, right inside the Tata Steel premises in Jamshedpur. Arindam Bhattacharya is the main point of contact here for M N Dastur Co P Ltd. Being located within the steel plant area means we are right in the middle of all the action. It is a very industrial setting, with the sounds of the plant always in the background. We don't have a stand-alone building; we just operate from this floor to stay close to the work. The office is pretty functional and doesn't have any of those modern trimmings you see in big city high-rises. We have our desks, our files, and a lot of technical manuals lying around. Most of us spend our days looking at project specs or talking to the plant workers. It’s not a flashy job, but it’s important for keeping things running smoothly. Jamshedpur is a steel town through and through, and we feel like a natural part of that. We don’t use any corporate slogans. We just show up, do the engineering work, and try to solve the problems that pop up during the day. It’s a lot of practical, hands-on thinking. Sometimes we stay late when a project is in a tricky phase, but that is just how it goes in this industry. We are just a small team tucked away on the third floor.
