ACTIVE ELECTRONICS

We sit on the ground floor of No-66 in Hindu Basti, right along Road Number-1 in Golmuri. It’s a simple setup at Active Electronics. You can usually find us surrounded by piles of components and testing equipment. The shop isn’t much to look at from the outside, but it’s where we do all our daily work. There is a lot of noise from the street, people walking by and cars honking, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend most of our mornings sorting through parts and checking orders that came in. The workbench is always a bit of a mess with solder and wire clippings scattered around. It’s just how things get when you are busy. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to ask a quick question or see if we have a specific transistor in stock. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. You just walk in past the main door and we are right there. The lighting is a bit bright because we need to see the small stuff we are working on. Sometimes the humidity in Golmuri makes the air feel heavy, so we keep the fans going all day long. It’s a basic life here, focusing on the electronics and making sure the shop stays running. We like being part of the Basti. It feels like home to us, and the routine keeps us going through the week.
