Swastik Exim

Working out of Patel Colony Industrial Area is exactly what you would expect for a business like Swastik Exim. Our place is at number 11, and it is right in the thick of things. There is always the sound of trucks reversing or the clatter of machinery from the nearby units. It is a dusty part of town, and we are constantly wiping down the desks, but that is just how it is in an industrial colony. We handle a lot of the export-import work from here, mostly focusing on getting the goods moved out to the ports on time. The office is practical—lots of metal filing cabinets and a big map on the wall that is started to curl at the edges. We are not trying to impress anyone with the decor; we just need a space that functions. Most days, we are dealing with drivers and checking manifests to make sure the counts are right. It is hard work and the hours can be long, especially when a big shipment is due to leave and we are still waiting on one last piece of paperwork. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. The guys in the other units are friendly, and we often help each other out if a truck gets stuck or someone needs a hand with a heavy load. It is a busy, gritty environment, but we have been at Patel Colony long enough that it feels like home to the business now.
