Dev Plastic Industries

Working out of Shed No. 3882 in G.I.D.C. Phase III, Dared, is exactly what you’d expect from a plastic factory. It’s hot, it’s noisy, and there’s always the smell of melting plastic in the air. We are located on Road Y, which is a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with the industrial estate. Dev Plastic Industries isn't a place for suits and ties. Most of us are in work clothes that probably have a few stains on them. We spend our days running the machines and checking the molds. Sometimes a machine breaks down in the middle of a run, and we have to spend hours getting it back up while the shed gets even hotter. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it by now. The floor is concrete and stays cluttered with crates of finished parts and bags of raw pellets. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person telling us what to say. We just make the plastic parts that people order from us. Some days we're ahead of schedule, and some days we’re struggling to catch up. It’s just the reality of running a small industrial shed. We have a small corner where we keep our records and take our lunch breaks. It’s a simple setup, but it’s been working for us for years. We just focus on the machines and making sure the output is good enough to send out the door.
