If you head over to Vishal Chowk in G.I.D.C. 2, you’ll find us at Shed No. 525. Shreelaxmi Mahinery Stores has been here in Dared for quite a few years now. The shop is usually full of the sound of metal and the smell of oil. We sell different kinds of machines and tools that people use for their own workshops. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We spend a lot of time showing customers how a certain piece of equipment works or helping them load something heavy into their vehicle. My hands are usually a bit greasy by lunch time, but that’s part of the job. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have a solid workspace where things get done. Sometimes we get a shipment that’s delayed and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow, which is never fun. We try to keep a good variety of items on hand so nobody leaves empty-handed. The area is always busy with other businesses, so there is a lot of noise and movement outside our door. We just focus on our own corner and make sure the machines we sell are in good shape. It’s a straightforward way to make a living, and we like being part of the industrial community here in Jamnagar.
