Our shop is over at Plot No. 588 in the Gidc area. If you find Patel Chowk, you are basically there. It is a busy spot with trucks moving in and out all the time. Inside, we have our lathes and some older equipment that still runs better than the new stuff. We do a lot of turning and grinding here. The air always smells a bit like cutting oil and old metal. It’s a small team, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk shoved against the wall where the paperwork sits. Often, we are so busy with a project that we forget to eat lunch until late in the afternoon. The floor is concrete and it’s hard on the feet, but you get used to it. We handle whatever comes through the door, mostly small batches of parts for other local shops. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, but we like being in the middle of the industrial zone. We don’t do much advertising because people just know where we are. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the dimensions right the first time without overcomplicating things.
