B. K. Dehy Foods

B. K. Dehy Foods is located at 103/2/2 on Haripara Road in the village of Bhanvad. Our main thing is dehydration, which basically means we spend all day drying out food items so they last longer. The village is a quiet place, but our spot on Haripara Road stays busy with people coming and going. We have a large outdoor area where we spread things out when the sun is right, and then we have the indoor machines for the rest of the process. It’s a very weather-dependent job. If it rains, we all have to scramble to get everything under cover quickly. Our staff is mostly made up of people from Bhanvad who have learned the trade over time. We don't have any corporate polish or big offices. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and the dust, and the equipment has been repaired more times than I can count. We just focus on the daily task of processing the raw goods that come in from the local farms. It’s a simple life on the road here. We have tea together in the afternoons and talk about the crops. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just run our dehydrators and make sure the bags are sealed up tight before they leave our gate. It’s honest work in a small village.
