Kashmir Marble House

We are set up on the Bye Pass Road, right near Channi Himmat. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of traffic and noise, but it makes it easy for people to find us. We have various types of marble and tiles spread out across the display area. It’s a lot of space to manage, and we spend a good chunk of the morning just making sure everything is visible and clean. The wind picks up a lot of dust from the road, so it’s a constant battle with the broom. We don't have a scripted way of talking to people. If someone stops their car and walks in, we just show them what’s currently in stock. Some days are slow and we just sit by the front, and other days three trucks show up at once and it’s chaos. Channi Himmat is a growing area, so we see a lot of new construction happening around us. We like being part of that process in our own small way. The marble comes in big slabs and smaller tiles, and we have to be really careful with the edges. One wrong move and a whole piece is ruined. We’ve learned to move slow and steady over the years. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do here on the bypass.
