Our place is called Hotel Asia Jammu Tawi and you can find us in Nehru Market. This is a very old part of Jammu and it stays busy with traders and people coming from the railway station. The market is full of life and noise, which we can hear from the front door most of the time. We have been here for a long time and the staff knows many of the regulars who come through. It is a straightforward business. We have rooms and we have people who need to stay in them. We spend our days making sure the water is hot and the rooms are swept. The Tawi river is not far away, and you can feel the history of the city when you walk around this neighborhood. We don't have a big corporate structure or any fancy titles. Most of us just do whatever needs to be done, whether it is fixing a light or answering the phone. The furniture is practical and the walls are thick. We see a lot of pilgrims and travelers who are tired from their journeys. We just give them their keys and let them rest. Nehru Market has everything a person could need, so it is a good spot for us to be. We just keep the doors unlocked and the lights on for whoever arrives.
