Chalotra Hardwares

We are located in Bari Brahmana Town. It’s right near Atma Public School, so we see the kids and parents every morning and afternoon. The shop is a bit of a landmark for people in this part of the district. It’s a hardware place, so we have a lot of heavy stuff sitting around. We have pipes, tools, and all the usual things you’d expect to find. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we spend a lot of time dusting things off. It’s a local business, so we know most of the people who walk through the door. We talk about the local news while they look for a specific wrench or a can of paint. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s just a practical shop where things are stacked wherever they fit. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the road for a minute, and the neighbors honk, but that’s just life here. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when things are slow. The winter gets a bit chilly because the front is open, but we just wear extra sweaters. I usually keep a pot of tea going in the back for when the neighbors stop by. We’ve been here long enough that the school kids have grown up and now they come in to buy things for their own houses. It’s a nice feeling, being part of the town like that.
