Ali General Store

Ali General Store is located in the Local Building over in Kralpora, Bagh Mehtab. We are right near the petrol pump here in Srinagar, which makes us easy to find if you're out getting fuel. The winters here can get quite cold, so we spend a lot of time making sure we have enough supplies for everyone when the snow starts. We sell everyday things like flour, rice, oil, and some small household items. It’s a simple setup. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. Just the basics on wooden shelves. I’ve been running this place in the 190019 area for a long time now. My neighbors are my main customers, and we’ve grown to know each other well over the years. Sometimes the delivery trucks find it hard to get through the narrow parts of Kralpora, so we have to go out and meet them. It's just part of the job. We aren't a big corporation. It's just me and sometimes a helper. We open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. If someone needs something urgently and we are still around, we help them out. It’s a quiet life, mostly just stocking the shelves and talking to people who stop by. We try to keep everything fairly priced so people keep coming back. Nothing more than that. It’s just our way of life here in the valley.
