Pawan Tea Company

Pawan Tea Company is located at Plot No.- 18 in Naya Bazaar. If you know Khalpara, you know how busy this area gets. We are right near the SBI ATM, so there are always people standing around outside. Our place is tucked in among a lot of other shops and it can get quite loud with the rickshaws passing by. We handle a lot of tea here, mostly in big heavy bags that we stack up against the walls until they reach the ceiling. The concrete floor is usually covered in a thin layer of tea dust by the end of the day. We have a simple desk made of plywood where we sit to do the billing and talk to customers. The lighting isn't the best, and sometimes the bulbs flicker, but we have a small generator for when the electricity fails. We see a lot of different traders coming in from all over the region to pick up their orders. Most of the work we do is manual, like lifting and dragging sacks across the floor. It keeps us on our feet from early morning until late at night. The air inside always smells like different blends of tea. We don't have much time for chatting, but we know all the regular faces in the bazaar. It is a tough and busy way to spend the day, but it is what we know.
