We are located in Uttar Madhabdanga, which is part of the Madhabdanga-I area in the Maynaguri block. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the big cities, but that’s how we like it. Jai Shankar Tea Co. Pvt. Ltd. operates right here in the heart of the region. There is a lot of green around us and the air feels different than it does in town. We spend our days dealing with the tea that comes through our doors. It’s a lot of logistics and keeping track of batches. The work can be repetitive, but it’s what we know. We have a small team here who mostly live nearby. We don't use any fancy management speak or have big meetings. We just talk over tea in the morning and get to work. Sometimes the roads out here get difficult when it rains a lot, which slows things down, but we manage to get through it. The building is a simple one, nothing to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s all about the leaves and the bags. We’ve been here long enough that most the locals know who we are. We just keep our heads down and do the job. It’s a steady life and we’re grateful for the business we have. There’s always more tea to move tomorrow. We don't need much more than a good crop and a dry place to store it.
