I.C.Ispat (P) Ltd.

We run I.C.Ispat (P) Ltd. from a place called Tari Jote in the Darjeeling district. Our mail goes to the Newrangia post office, which is a little way off. It’s a bit of a different setting compared to a big city like Kolkata. We are located right near Renuka Guha’s place. It’s quite peaceful out here in this part of West Bengal, which is a nice change of pace for us. We deal with steel and related industrial matters every day. It’s heavy work and doesn't always look pretty or clean. The office is small and functional, just enough for what we need. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop by the site. Being in the Darjeeling area means we have to deal with the local geography and being far from the major hubs, but we’ve figured out how to make it work over the years. It’s a family-style operation in many ways. We know the people around us and we’ve been part of this community for a long time now. There are no fancy boardrooms here with leather chairs. Just a few plastic chairs and a table where we discuss the day’s tasks over some tea. We try to keep things moving steadily despite any challenges. Some days are slow, especially when the weather is bad or the roads are blocked, but we stay on top of things as much as we can. It’s just honest work in a quiet corner of the state.
