Our factory, Tirupati Extrusion Pvt. Ltd., sits right out on the Nanded Highway. If you are driving past, we are the place right opposite Poonam Oil Mill. You can usually tell when the mill is working because of the smell. We are located at Survey No:21/789, which is basically just a big plot of land where we do our manufacturing. It gets really loud inside with the machines running constantly. We do a lot of heavy lifting and moving parts around. The dust from the highway comes in through the big doors, so we are always cleaning things off. It’s a tough environment, especially when it’s hot outside, but we have a good group of people who have been here for a long time. We don't have much of an office, just a small partitioned area where we keep the books and take calls. Most of the action happens on the floor where the extrusion happens. Trucks pull in and out all day, picking up loads and dropping off raw materials. We have to watch the schedule closely so we don't get a bottleneck of vehicles on the narrow access path. It’s a lot of grease and sweat, and by the time the shift ends, everyone is ready to go home. We don't do anything fancy here; we just make sure the machines are running and the product is moving out on time. It's just hard work in a noisy place on the highway.
