Smithson Machine Tools

Smithson Machine Tools is tucked away at E-49 in the Industrial Area. It’s one of those parts of town where there’s always a hum of machinery in the background. Our shop is no different. We have several large machines that take up most of the floor space. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we have a lot of raw material delivered. We do a lot of tool and die work, and sometimes custom jobs for other shops in the area. It’s dusty and noisy, and we usually have grease on our clothes by noon. That’s just part of the trade. We’ve got a small crew of men who have been doing this for decades. They don’t need much instruction; they just know what needs to happen. We keep a pot of tea on the stove in the back corner. The walls are lined with wrenches, gauges, and bits of metal we might need later. We don’t have a website or any of that fancy stuff. People just know we are here at E-49. If you need a tool fixed or a part made, you just drop by and talk to us. We’ll tell you straight if we can do it and how long it’ll take. We don't like to overcomplicate things. It’s about doing a decent job and making sure the machines keep running. Some days the power goes out, and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back.
