Self Employed - Practising Chartered Accouintant

I’m working as a self-employed chartered accountant out of a small office on the first floor of Amrit Apartment. It’s located in Lajpat Nagar, which is a pretty central part of Jalandhar. Being on my own means I do a lot of the heavy lifting myself, from answering the door to digging through tax codes. I don’t have a big staff or a fancy lobby. It’s just room 102, filled with books, a computer, and a printer that probably works too hard. Most of my day is spent checking figures and making sure clients have their documents ready for the government. Jalandhar is a busy city, and everyone is trying to make a living, so I try to make the accounting side of things as simple as possible for them. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I understand the local way of doing business. It’s not about being a big firm; it’s about doing the work correctly and being honest about what’s possible. People come to me because they want someone they can actually talk to, not a faceless company. I keep things practical. If there’s a problem with a filing, I just sit down and fix it. It’s steady, quiet work that keeps me busy from morning until evening most days. There isn't much more to it than that, just keeping the books balanced and the clients happy.
