We are tucked away in Avtar Nagar, specifically at 139/2 on the Number 2 Main Road. It’s the area right behind the T V Center in Jalandhar City. Our place is usually covered in bits of fabric and leftover flower stems. It’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. Building stages is hard work and our hands are always a bit rough from the wood and wire. We’ve been doing this for years, mostly just learning as we go. The flowers arrive early in the morning, and the whole street smells like jasmine for a few hours. We don’t have a fancy showroom. People usually just walk into the workshop and see us working on a frame or cutting cloth. It’s a small team, mostly just family and a few neighbors who help out when things get busy. The TV center is a good landmark, so people don’t get lost too often trying to find us. We use a lot of old tools that have been around since we started. The main road gets quite busy during the day, so loading the trucks can be a bit of a struggle. Sometimes we stay up all night finishing a stage for a morning event. It’s just part of the job. We don’t really do big advertisements; people just know us from seeing our work at local gatherings. It's honest work and it keeps the kitchen running.
