Nandan Exports

Our place is located at number 36 in Basti Nau. It's an area where everyone knows each other, mostly. Nandan Exports has been operating from this same building for a long time. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the office area and then the space where we keep the materials. It isn't a huge operation. We mostly focus on getting the exports ready for shipping. Usually, the day starts early before the heat gets too bad. We open the shutters, check what needs to be packed, and get to it. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day. There are other small businesses around us, so there’s always someone moving something or a motorbike passing by. We don’t have a big reception or anything like that. People just walk in if they need to talk to us. We handle a lot of different types of items depending on the season. The shelves are usually full of boxes waiting to go out. We try to keep a rhythm. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the labels are right. Sometimes we sit out front for a break when things get a bit slower in the afternoon. It’s a decent place to work. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just do the job, pay the bills, and come back the next day to do it again.
