K. V. Harvesters

K. V. Harvesters is located over at 8 Kasturba Nagar, which is right in the Jalandhar Cantt area. Living and working in the Cantt is a bit different because everything is so orderly and the roads are kept fairly clean. We have our workshop right here where we keep the machinery. It’s a family-run thing, mostly just me and a few guys from the neighborhood. Most mornings we start with a quick tea and then we get to the metalwork. You can hear the banging of tools all the way down the street, but the neighbors don’t seem to mind much. We’ve been at this for years, fixing and putting together harvesters for the farmers who come in from the surrounding districts. The floor is always covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep it at night. We don't have a salesperson or anything like that. People just walk in through the big blue doors and ask for what they need. Jalandhar gets incredibly hot in the summer, so we have a couple of big desert coolers running that make a lot of noise. It’s not a polished corporate office by any means, just a place where we get our hands dirty and make sure the equipment is ready for the field. Sometimes we stay late when a machine needs to go out the next morning. It is just how it is.
